John R. “Ron” Bieberich is a veteran of 35 years in the newspaper business having retired in 2005 from a 30 year career with Capital Gazette Newspapers in Annapolis. In addition to being Director of Circulation and serving on the company’s executive board, he was responsible marketing, distribution of all company products, as well as plant and facilities.
Since taking early retirement, Bieberich started two marine oriented companies headquartered in Eastport, Chesapeake Dock Outfitters and EZ Dock Mid-Chesapeake.
Prior to entering the newspaper business, he served with the US Army in Vietnam as Chief of the 4th Infantry Division Casualty Branch in Pleiku in the Central Highlands and as a liaison to the 6th Convalescent Center in Camh Ranh Bay.
Ron is a 32 year member of the Annapolis Rotary Club serving as it’s president from 2005 to 2006. He has served in many capacities, most recently as chairman of the Rotary Foundation’s Black Tie and Diamonds – 2010. While employed in the newspaper business he served as president of a five-state association for newspaper circulation executives, The Interstate Circulation Manager’s Association.
In addition to his business interests, Ron is a wildlife and waterfowl photographer, and he enjoys hunting and fishing. He is married to his wife, Mary Jo, and has three sons and five grandchildren. He resides in Severna Park.
