Girlfriends of Wellness House

About Girlfriends of Wellness House

The Girlfriends of Wellness House is a group of Wellness House supporters that joined together one day on the tennis court. This group of women — all of whom have been touched by cancer in some way — banded together to host the first annual Ladies’ Tennis Round Robin to raise money for Wellness House. With the grand success of their first fundraiser, they began hosting Girls’ Night Out events – small gatherings of women at their houses, with a registration fee of $35 to go toward Wellness House.

During the holiday season of 2009, they created the Caring Tree event at Wellness House. Commander Robert Giffen of the Mas Que Christmas Tree Plantation donated a beautiful evergreen tree, and each of the 110 women who attended brought an ornament representing hope, faith, and wellness to adorn it. The second annual Caring Tree, in 2010, was another success.

The Girlfriends of Wellness House have raised nearly $50,000 in two years, a portion of which funded our resource library and laptop computers. Wellness House is eternally grateful for this generous group of women.
